  • Do I need an appointment for travel vaccinations?
    Yes, please book in advance to ensure availability. Appointments can be made online or by calling us directly.
  • Which travel vaccines do you offer?
    We offer Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, Rabies, Japanese Encephalitis, Yellow Fever, Cholera, Tetanus, and more. Antimalarial tablets and travel advice are also available.
  • How far in advance should I get vaccinated?
    Ideally 6–8 weeks before travel. Some vaccines require multiple doses, but we also accommodate last-minute travellers.
  • Are travel vaccines NHS or private?
    All services are private and paid for by the patient. NHS funding does not apply.
  • Do I need a prescription for travel vaccinations?
    No. Our pharmacists work under PGDs (Patient Group Directions), so we can provide vaccines directly after a consultation.
  • Can children receive travel vaccines?
    Yes, depending on the child’s age and destination. Contact us for tailored advice.
  • Do you issue Yellow Fever certificates?
    Yes, we are a registered Yellow Fever centre and provide official WHO certificates where required.
  • Can I get antimalarial tablets from you?
    Yes. After a short consultation, we can supply tablets like Malarone or doxycycline—no GP needed.
  • Where is the travel clinic?
    Inside Chartwell Pharmacy, West End, Southampton. Free parking is available and we’re easily accessible from nearby areas.
